When a panel is attached to a survey, several changes are made to that survey so it can function correctly alongside the panel.
Important
Surveys using batch statusing must include three “background” variables, named 'JobNumber' 'RunNumber' and 'PanelistId'. These are open-text variables with a field width of 255 characters. They must be added as background variables in the survey tree, and they must be included in the fields uploaded in the sample/job. JobNumber should be an open question node with a suitable field width set, while RunNumber and PanelistId must be numerical open questions with a suitable number of digits.
Note: The changes and functionality described in this part of the documentation will only occur or be available to companies with access to the Professional Panels functionality.
Updating Survey History Variables
You can update values in a survey history record. The only requirement here is that the survey includes a variable field called PanelistID - .
